Dog Doormat Supplier Bungalow Flooring
When it comes to a dog doormat, I've always been partial to those with cute sayings on them. I'm thinking about dog doormats that say "Wipe Your Paws" or which feature paw prints directly on them.
Turns out I'm not alone in wanting to show my puppy love by having a dog doormat at my front door. Once Pawsome Doggie started offering the dog breed doormats earlier this year, they quickly became some of our customers' favorite items to buy. In fact, we've sold more of the Corgi welcome mat than any of the other ones we offer from Bungalow Flooring.
Bungalow Flooring is one of our four suppliers. This is the second in a series of profiles of those suppliers so customers can get to know the companies behind the products better. You already know my back story from our "About Us" page. And earlier this month I profiled the person behind Puppy Cake.
The Origin of Dog Doormats
Wonder how Bungalow Flooring got into making dog doormats? I asked company president Rob Shriver. His answer was simple: "Our customers were seeking a solution for under the pet bowls."
In fact, until Bungalow launched its first floor mat for under a pet food bowl, it had been primarily a commercial flooring manufacturer. But 10 years ago the company realized there was an untapped niche in pet-related flooring products, and Bungalow Pets was born.
Today, Bungalow Flooring provides a pet collection that offers both functional and decorative pet mats. Some have the added value of personalization--that is, you can personalize the mat to reflect the dog breed you have at home. From Chihuahua to Yorkies we've added 20 different dog breeds just from the Bungalow Pet collection. These dog doormats come two ways:
* A single dog breed in a highly functional, great quality dog doormat. Each breed-specific dog doormat is available in 19 colors. Here is our best seller--the Corgi dog doormat.
* A work of art from Dean Russo featuring more than a dozen dog breeds, some with clever sayings on them, such as "Beagle Love" and "Dogs Never Lie About Love," featuring a smiling German shepherd.
Bungalow Flooring also has a full-time staff of designers who are responsible for creating on-trend doormat for dog lovers. Check out these examples below.
We hope to have these for sale soon on our store.
Doormats Made in the USA
One of the reasons I like working with Bungalow Flooring is that everything is made in the USA. Actually, all of the mats are made and shipped from Georgia, where Bungalow has its manufacturing facility.
Every time one of our customers orders a dog doormat, Bungalow custom cuts and dyes the mat for them. There is no mass production that is outsourced overseas. "We want to support the patriot endeavor and keep Americans employed," Shriver adds.
When it comes to deciding which breeds Bungalow puts on its dog doormats, there is a little bit of science behind the decision-making. "We go by the USA breed ranking of popular breeds," he adds. "We use a combination of the AKC [American Kennel Club] breed ranking and anecdotal conversations with our buyers. Our buyers share what breeds are requested."
Breeds of Dog Doormats
Right now we're carrying dog doormats featuring the following breeds:
- Black Lab
- Boston Terrier
- French Bulldog
- German Shepherd
- Golden Retriever
- Labrador Retriever
- Scottish Terrier
- West Highland White Terrier
- Yorkshire Terrier
Shriver tells me that in 2018 Bungalow will be introducing even more breeds to the mix. However, he couldn't even give me a hint as to what those breeds are. As someone who recently covered the National Dog Show for Parade.com, I'm guessing we might see breeds like the Brussels Griffon. It was the breed that won Best in Show for 2017.
Here is what he could tell me about pet-friendly dog doormats and other products from Bungalow in 2018--more basic mats that fit more to home decor. So in other words, really great looking floor products that pet parents are going to love.
Bungalow Flooring Pet Parents
Shriver himself is pet parent--many times over. "Yes, we have a fairly deep lineup of animals in our family," he says. "We have a border collie, a great Dane, a quarter horse, and a cat." Unfortunately for Shriver and other animal-loving employees, Bungalow Flooring does not allow bring your dog (or quarter horse or cat) to work day. It's understandable why--it isn't safe to have animals around all of that manufacturing equipment.
Here is a quick video that explains how Bungalow Flooring dog doormats and other flooring products help your home look great and keep muddy feet and paws from tracking dirt, mud and water inside.
Nearly every person who has purchased one of the Bungalow Flooring dog doormats has done so as a gift for a dog lover. Throughout this year and into next, we'll be adding even more of these products to the Pawsome Doggie store. We're going to include dog doormats with funny sayings as well as mats imprinted with dog paws and dog bones.
In addition, we will be launching a new line in 2018. It is called Kittieware and it will be for cat lovers. Of course, we'll add cat doormats along with our collection of dog doormats.
